TRIP TO KAMPONG CHHNANG, THE LAND OF POTS... |

The arrival of the Cambodian lunar month of Pheaktroboth reminds all of us that it's now time for one of the most important festivals of the year, Bon Pchum Ben. Customarily celebrated for fifteen days from the 1st until the 15th roach (the waning days of the lunar month), Cambodians are supposed to prepare foods and other important offerings for monks at at least one Buddhist temple, so as to dedicate them to their deceased ancestors. If not, it is believed that they will be cursed by the spirits and will be living with bad luck and unhappiness. With the main goal of promoting better mutual understanding and relationship among CPYs, the whole Cambodian contingent 2005 as well as a few Ex-PYs recently organized a Dak-Ben trip to Wat Phnom Santooch in Kampong Chhnang Province, 90 km north of Phnom Penh.. Besides being good boys and girls at the temple, they also initiated many team-building activities such as games, village tour, etc... Below are some pics from the trip. Enjoy! ;) |
